Planting seed in the the hearts of children

The vitality of a Church is noted by the amount of children and youth ministered to. God has blessed New Beginnings Church with an abundance of special children and teens.

The Youth are pastored by Jason and Toni Johnson. They are assisted by a five member board that is very active in guiding the direction our youth ministry goes.

Children are a very important part of the services at our church. So important in fact that the kids are given the sanctuary for a full program just for them. KID'S CONNECTION is by far the greatest thing we can do to reachour children. A lot of emphasis is placed on worship and praise. The sessions are led by the church staff with help from the teens.

Jason and Toni Johnson

Jason Johnson moved to Kotzebue in May of 2002 to become the Youth and Children's Minister. Since coming to work with the church we have experienced a tremendous growth in our under 20 group. Jason, along with his co-workers, have workled hard to provide a quality program for the department. Jason is the son and Margaret and Ernie Austin and was raised as a military dependant. He works full time for Maniilaq Health Center as a Human Resource Specialist. In April of 2003, he proudly stood at the altar and received Toni Evak to be his partner for life. Toni is a native of Kotzebue. Her Grandmother is the remaining charter member of the church.

Jason and Toni have two sons, Jason Jr and Desmond.

These two young people are dedicated to God and working for Him. Both are a vital part of our music program. Jason is the bass guitar player and occassionly plays drums. She represents our church well in numereous civic group appearances.
